HuaHin is situated about 200km south of  Bangkok. 2+ hours by car and a bit more by bus. You also have the train option and there will be high speed trains in the future.

The HuaHin train station is well known and even though there is now a new station the old one has been retained.       

There is a long sandy beach stretching from ChaAm to Kao Thakieb.

There are many markets, restaurants, shops and bars. 

There are also two large shopping centers.
